Day 01 Welcome to Kathmandu

Namaste and welcome to Kathmandu, a city that blends the treasures of its heritage with the bustling energy of a typical Asian metropolis. Upon arrival, take the opportunity to explore some of Kathmandu's renowned sites or relax at the hotel to shake off any lingering jet lag. At 1600 hours, gather for a group meeting where your tour leader will brief you and your fellow travelers on the details of the tour. In the evening, embark on a fascinating Rickshaw Night Explorer tour, lasting approximately 2-3 hours. Hop on a cycle rickshaw, known locally as 'street helicopters,' and journey through the vibrant tourist hub of Thamel, followed by the bustling vegetable and spice markets of Asan, the oldest market square in Kathmandu. Continue your exploration through the backstreets to Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you can experience the soulful ambiance of this ancient site, tastefully illuminated at night. After the tour, consider joining the group for an optional dinner to share today's exciting experiences and forge new friendships.

Day 02 Old world charms

After breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Bandipur, renowned for its picturesque landscapes of valleys and rivers. As we traverse winding roads, we're treated to breathtaking views of lush greenery, cascading waterfalls, and charming villages nestled amidst the mountains. Along the way, we make a stop for lunch at Benighat, where we can enjoy the tranquility of nature while indulging in a delicious meal. Continuing our journey, we drive forward to Dumre, a bustling roadside market-town, before diverging from the main highway to ascend a winding uphill track leading to Bandipur. Upon arrival at the Bandipur Bazaar, we're warmly welcomed by the hotel staff. Walking through the bazaar to reach our accommodation, we're enchanted by the small, peaceful, ancient town of Bandipur, perched high in the hills with panoramic views of Manaslu and the Annapurnas. The hotel is located in the heart of the town, offers a welcoming atmosphere, and commanding vistas of the Himalayas from its terraces. After lunch, we have the option to relax at the hotel or take a leisurely stroll around the village, or explore local life for 2-3 hours. In the evening, we delight in the authentic flavors of Nepalese cuisine during dinner.

Day 03 Ghorepani (2750m)

Early in the morning, we embark on a scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive from Bandipur to Nayapul, where we switch to a 4x4 Jeep to head northwest toward Banthanti, marking the gateway to the Annapurna region. This is where our trekking adventure truly begins. The journey kicks off with an invigorating ascent along a rugged trail, passing charming homes and inviting tea houses. As we progress, the first breathtaking views of Annapurna South come into sight, urging us onward through wooded areas alive with blossoming trees and towering bamboo plants. Beyond Banthanti (2300m), the path takes us into a dense, moss-covered forest exuding an almost otherworldly allure. Climbing through a narrow valley, we tackle more stairs before emerging at Nangathanti (2520m). A final hour of uphill trekking brings us to Ghorepani (2750m), completing a 5.5-hour journey brimming with mesmerizing vistas and unforgettable experiences in nature.

Day 04 Tadapani (2590m)

Setting off before the break of dawn, we embark on a pre-dawn hike lasting approximately 45 minutes, leading us to the breathtaking vantage point of Poon Hill just in time to witness the majestic sunrise illuminating the panoramic views of Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna Range. After soaking in the awe-inspiring scenery, we make our way back to our tea-house for a hearty breakfast, fueling up for the day ahead. Resuming our journey, we rejoin the trail, which winds its way north along the ridge line, treating us to magnificent vistas of the Annapurnas sprawling across the horizon from east to west. Traversing through a forested ridge and relishing views on either side, we then navigate a steep descent down a muddy slope, leading to a quaint settlement nestled amidst the rugged terrain. Continuing onward, we enter a densely forested gorge, where the trail gradually widens as we descend further, eventually emerging into an open area. As our trek progresses, we embark on a final upward climb through dense woodland, culminating in our arrival at Tadapani (2590m). With a total walking duration of approximately 4 hours, today's trek promises a diverse range of landscapes, from lush forests to sweeping mountain vistas, offering a truly immersive experience in the heart of the Annapurna region.

...

Day 05 Sinuwa (2340m)

The trail descends steeply through a lush jungle, eventually emerging into terraced fields that cascade along the steep sides of a deep valley. Following the contours of these terraces, we continue onward until the path climbs sharply up the opposite slope. Entering the expansive Modi Khola valley, the gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary, we trek further into this dramatic landscape. Crossing the Chomrong Khola on a sturdy bridge, the trail then climbs steeply, wrapping around the contours of the valley before rising to the ridge high above the river. Towering stands of rhododendron, oak, and hemlock create a picturesque gorge, offering a haven for birdwatchers. After approximately two hours of steep ascents, we arrive at the tranquil village of Sinuwa, perched at 2340m. Today’s trek, lasting around seven hours, blends lush greenery, cultural encounters, and breathtaking vistas in equal measure.

Day 06 Deurali (3200m)

Today, we steadily ascend through the valley, making our way uphill to Doban (2580m), as the serene landscapes unfold around us. The trail winds through tranquil forested areas, offering stunning views of the towering peaks above. After around two hours, we reach the Himalayan settlement, where the crisp mountain air signals our increasing altitude. As we continue, the terrain becomes icier, and we pass through a ‘sacred’ forest adorned with towering trees and vibrant moss. Along the way, a picturesque moss-covered cascade and a small, secluded temple add a spiritual touch to the trek. Emerging from the forest, we find ourselves in an open expanse, where the awe-inspiring scenery makes the climb well worth it. Our destination for the day is Deurali at 3230m, a peaceful and tranquil spot nestled amidst the mountains, perfect for rest and reflection.

Day 07 Machhapuchhare Base Camp (3700m)

As we embark on today's trek, the trail takes us higher into the Annapurna region, gradually climbing through more rugged and icy terrain. With each step, the landscape transforms, and we find ourselves surrounded by the mystical charm of a sacred forest, its towering trees and vibrant moss creating an otherworldly atmosphere. Beyond Hinko (3100m), the trail leads us to the narrow entrance of the Annapurna Sanctuary, where the mighty Machhapuchare (Fishtail Mountain) dominates the valley, its imposing peak capturing our gaze. This stretch of the trek is particularly challenging, as avalanches are a frequent hazard, demanding extra caution. After navigating this awe-inspiring route, we reach Machhapuchare Base Camp at 3700m, where we settle in for the night. Spanning approximately 4.5 hours of walking, today's journey combines the thrill of high-altitude trekking with breathtaking natural beauty, offering a glimpse of the grandeur that defines the Annapurna region.

Day 08 Annapurna Base Camp (4130m)

Embarking on the final leg of our journey, we set out for the Annapurna Base Camp in the early hours of the morning, capitalizing on the clear skies and minimal risk of avalanches. As we ascend, the landscape gradually transforms, revealing a stark yet mesmerizing beauty. The base camp, situated at an altitude of 4130m, is nestled at the foot of the imposing Annapurna Glacier's lateral moraine. From atop the moraine, we are greeted by a breathtaking vista, with the rugged expanse of the glacier stretching out below us, a testament to the raw power of nature. However, the tranquility of the sanctuary is periodically shattered by the distant rumble of rock and ice slides cascading down from the towering peaks of Annapurna South, serving as a stark reminder of the formidable forces at play in this pristine wilderness. With a total walking duration of approximately 3 hours, our journey to the Annapurna Base Camp is a thrilling culmination of weeks of trekking, offering us an unparalleled opportunity to immerse ourselves in the awe-inspiring grandeur of the Himalayas.

Day 09 Bamboo (2380 m)

As we bid farewell to the Annapurna Base Camp, our journey takes us back along the familiar trail, retracing our steps downhill toward Bamboo. Descending through the rugged terrain, we are treated to familiar vistas of lush forests, cascading waterfalls, and towering peaks looming in the distance. The trail, though well-trodden, never fails to captivate with its natural splendor and serene beauty. As we make our way back to Bamboo, we reflect on the incredible experiences and memories forged during our time in the heart of the Himalayas. With each step, we are reminded of the resilience of the human spirit and the boundless wonders of the natural world. With a total walking duration of approximately 6.5 hours, our return journey to Bamboo marks the conclusion of our epic adventure, leaving us with a profound sense of fulfillment and gratitude for the unforgettable moments shared amidst the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Annapurna region.

Day 10 Jhinu (1780m)

Embarking on our trek, we navigate two challenging ascents followed by two rewarding descents, ultimately arriving at Upper Sinuwa. Along the way, we're treated to breathtaking views of Machapuchare and Annapurna III from a stunning viewpoint. Descending to Lower Sinuwa (2340m), we continue our journey with a climb to a spur ridge overlooking JhinuDanda (1780m), our night's rest. Here, we're granted one last close-up glimpse of the majestic peaks, including Machhapuchare, Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South. Renowned for its natural hot springs, Jhinu Danda offers a rejuvenating opportunity to soak in the therapeutic waters and unwind amidst the tranquil surroundings. As the late afternoon approaches, we make our way to the hot spring, conveniently located just 20 minutes from the village along the shores of the Modi Khola River. With a total walking duration of approximately 6 hours, today's trek promises both physical exertion and soulful relaxation, leaving us invigorated and renewed for the adventures that lie ahead.

The trail winds through serene landscapes adorned with lush vegetation and gentle streams, offering a tranquil start to the day. After the invigorating hike, we board a 4x4 vehicle and journey towards Nayapul, passing through Birethanti, a picturesque village full of local charm. The scenic drive unfolds breathtaking views of cascading waterfalls, verdant valleys, and quaint hillside villages as we descend towards the valley floor. Upon reaching Nayapul, we switch vehicles for a smooth and leisurely two-hour ride to Pokhara, a scenic lakeside city nestled amidst the majestic Himalayas. Arriving in Pokhara, we are welcomed by the calm shores of Phewa Lake and stunning views of the Annapurna range. Reviews

The scenery we saw each day was totally stunning! Even though there were a lot of stairs to climb, the delicious food at the teahouses kept us going strong. When we reached the Annapurna Sanctuary, it was even more spectacular than expected - so bring warm clothes and your favorite card game for some fun evenings

Jacob Brownbear

What an incredible journey! The views were stunning, the mountains sky-high, the forests lush and the rivers crystal clear - not to mention all those charming Gurung villages. Although it took a lot of effort with all those steep stones and steps along the way I made it! A huge thanks to One World Adventure's team for making this amazing experience happen..

Talia Nganjmirra

Thanks to the incredible crew, we had one of the most remarkable trips ever! They nurtured us around every bend, high-fived, and celebrated with us along our journey. Our pace was spot on with regular breaks for chuckles and time to adjust to higher altitudes. A huge shout out once more to those who took us all the way up to ABC, that's why I've got an easy reminder: don't forget to pause and take in everything you can see…from the immensity of those majestic mountains right down to the fragrances on display. Unbelievable! Exploring the Himalayas absolutely rocks

Sofia Müller

Who knew a trek with ABC would be so wild? We'd heard of it, but we had no idea there were gonna be SO MANY stairs! It made each trudging day worth it when we got to take in the awe-inspiring views. Every sunrise put a smile on our faces, and we couldn't get enough of the sundowns. Not to mention the continuously changing landscape that kept us mesmerized - this is undoubtedly one of our most unforgettable holiday experiences! Our friends and family are so sick hearing about all our 'Nepal-ventures', but seriously - if you're looking for something special: I highly recommend OWA
